CSV Creation and Export Instruction for MLSListings Prop Based MLS System
REQUIRED FIELDS IN CORRECT ORDER
The following fields must be in your final CSV file and in the order indicated. Continue on to learn how to add and arrange the required columns.
STEP 1.
Login into your MLS account and search for a record set (comps). Note that you may want "All statuses" (recommended, not required), but the period MUST BE FOR 1 YEAR.
STEP 2.
Click on the "Customize Columns" link.
STEP 3.
Locate and arrange the columns EXACTLY as shown below using the "Add/Remove Columns" tool in MLSListings.
Follow the directions in MLSlistings to locate, drage and drop to create the column bar below. (It takes a little hunting).
After you create the correct columns in the correct order as seen below, click on the "Save" button on the bottom of the page.
STEP 4.
Export the Records by mousing over the "More Options" box and clicking on the Export link.
STEP 4.
Save the file created by MLSListing.
Click on the "Save" button.
STEP 5.
Save the record set where you can locate it. You can rename the file at this time if you want to.
Your Export is not quite ready to use!The following must be completed to every record set prior to uploading.
STEP 1.
Open the record set in Excel. (If you do not have Excel, you can go to OpenOffice.org and download a free software equivalent.)
STEP 2.
Search and Replace all commas (,) contained within the record set fields.
Enter a comma into the top box "Find what:" and leave the "Replace with;" box blank.
Click on replace all.
Sometimes, there are no commas contained in the record set, but you should always check before uploading.
STEP 3.
Save the record set in the proper .CSV format.

Click on "Yes".
When closing the Excel file, a second save pops-up. This is important. Click on "Yes" to save the file in a proper CSV format.
Now your record set is saved in the proper format and ready for upload. Now you can navigate to:
1004MC MLS Data Analysis Tool page and upload your record set for analysis.
